Barbecue This Friday

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

silverwing wood stoveAs the weather continues to cool, it seems worth noting that we will be continuing our last-Friday-of-the-month barbecue tradition throughout the winter.  I know what you’re thinking, “There’s no way they’re gonna be barbecuing when it’s snowy and cold.  The potato salad will freeze.”  Well, we have formulated a plan that involves a complex but effective system of ducting, fans, lincoln logs and Gorilla glue to ensure that neither the potato salad nor the soft drinks will fall below the optimal temperature.

In summation, please join us on Friday for October’s barbecue.  If you’d like to come in costume, feel free.  Jason and I will both be dressed as line-service personnel.  As always, bring something to throw on the barbecue and we’ll all have a good time.

The SPOT Locator: A Must-Have For Every Adventurer

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

SilverWing recently became Sandpoint’s newest dealer for SPOT personal GPS.  We have already sold one and are offering a great deal.  The SPOT unit itself is $99.  We can also offer a free year of tracking service ($50 value), and to the next 4 customers, we can also offer a free rugged nylon carrying case.

These locators have been instrumental in several rescue operations of late, and the stories keep surfacing.  The SPOT ’s YouTube page has several videos ranging from tutorials to user stories.

Next Wednesday, October 21st at 7pm, Idaho’s Division of Aeronautics’ Safe Pilot Program will present a forum to discuss the importance and use of Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT’s) and Personal Satellite Locators (SPOT).  This event is free to the public.

Check out the SPOT online and then give us a call at 208.263.9102 or stop by our office at 110 Airport Way in Sandpoint to get yours today.

Premier Lodging Options For SilverWing Clients

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

We’ve recently made some arrangements with a few of the top local hotels and lodges, to offer our clients discounted rates. As I called around to discuss these arrangements, I was met with great attitudes and excellent service – a good sign that Sandpoint is stepping up to offer premier service to resort clientele.

Details are still being discussed, but more information will be forthcoming.

Our Neighbor, Quest Aircraft

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Quest Kodiak
For a town with a population of 8100, according to the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, Sandpoint has a lot of great businesses.  One of these is Quest Aircraft.  Quest is our neighbor to the north, across the runway.  They are one of several companies, including Thorne Research, Coldwater Creek and Litehouse Foods to name a few, that depend on having a local airport that is safe, dependable and professional.  Our goal here at SilverWing, is to ensure that we offer the best possible service under any circumstances, and that pilots come to expect that they can get what they need at KSZT.  As we continue to build the reputation of Sandpoint’s airport, local businesses who rely on the airport will be able to grow to their full potential.
